Union Board authorizes nearly $2 million in capital bonds

NY UNION — Union Town Board authorizes nearly $2 million in capital bonds for infrastructure. Supervisor Robert Mack and the five-member board approved bond resolutions totaling $1.97 million for highway equipment ($718,144.70), park improvements ($346,800), street and sidewalk upgrades ($350,000), recycling trucks ($280,000), and under-drain installation ($75,000), along with a $54,000 net equipment purchase through a trade-in program. Councilman Frank J.
Bertoni dissented on four measures; councilmen Thomas R. Augostini, Joseph P. Nirchi Sr., and David Kudgus voted with the supervisor.
All bond authorizations are subject to permissive referendum.
